A club spokesman said: “After more than 37 years in the music business, Henry reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter and released his debut solo CD, The Chronicles of Modern Life, to critical acclaim in September 2008.

“In February 2014, he released the eagerly awaited follow-up, entitled The Last Mad Surge of Youth, which garnered Henry the best reviews he’s had in his many years of releasing albums.

“Both albums are the sound of a man who’s seen the music world explode from punk – Yachts supported the Sex Pistols in 1977, and The Who on a European Tour in 1979 – via pop, including three million albums with The Christians, through to the digital age.

“Henry feels he’s really found his feet since going solo. He has been gigging steadily to a small, but committed fanbase. He’s discovered a new found love of live work, mixing ramshackle chaos and tear-jerking poignancy in equal measures.
