Former Sheffield Wednesday player says Owls won't lose against Aston Villa

The two teams may be in contrasting form at present but according to one pundit, Sheffield Wednesday's trip to Aston Villa today could be a profitable one.

The Owls go into the game unbeaten in their last two, following a draw with Barnsley and a midweek victory over Millwall, however two wins in their last six has put Wednesday in an uncomfortable league position for a side supposedly challenging for promotion.

Meanwhile, Villa have lost just once in their last six games, that coming against Championship pace-setters Wolves and Steve Bruce's men are sitting in fifth position in the table as opposed to Wednesday's 15th placing.

That doesn't seem to matter to former Owls player David Prutton, though. For while still pointing out the inconsistency that has dogged Carlos Carvalhal's side this season, the Sky Sports pundit believes Wednesday could come away from Villa Park with what would be seen as a positive result.

Prutton, in his weekly predictions column, is backing Wednesday to take a point and make it three without defeat.

"It's hard to call this one," admits Prutton. "Sheffield Wednesday got back to winning ways in midweek but every time they do get a victory it seems to be followed quickly by another poor run, and that's why they find themselves in mid-table at the start of November.

"Aston Villa, meanwhile, will be content with their draw at Birmingham and got a great win at Preston on Wednesday night, but it's been a tough week and I feel like this will be a draw."
