Carvalhal looked to have put the Swans well on course for survival after taking charge in late December, just four days after leaving The Owls.
But Huddersfield Town's draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night left Swansea all-but mathematically relegated.

Hide AdCarvalhal's side are three points adrift of Southampton, who hold a vastly superior goal difference.
The Portuguese had signed a deal until the end of the season at the Liberty Stadium with the option of extension, but that will not be taken up.
Swansea have taken just two points from their last seven games - losing their last four - which saw them slump from a position of relative comfort to the cusp of relegation.
