Former Premier League referee Uriah Rennie visited an adventure playground in Sheffield to help unveil a new tyre swing as a surprise for children.

Uriah, from Sheffield, who has now retired from refereeing, visited Pitsmoor Adventure Playground for a party over the festive season during which gifts were handed out to youngsters as part of Help A Hallam Child’s Mission Christmas project.

The swing was paid for and erected through sponsorship from Timberplay, a Sheffield-based play equipment provider and a donation from a member of the public.

Patrick Meleady, who manages Pitsmoor Adventure Playground, said “The tyre swing is a wonderful piece of new kit and our children and families were extremely pleased to see there new swing ready for use, this completes what has been an amazing year for Pitsmoor Adventure Playground.”
