The Armed Forces flag currently flying over Rotherham will be lowered during a sunset ceremony on Saturday.

The flag, raised in the town’s All Saints’ Square last Saturday to mark Armed Forces Week, will be lowered by the Rotherham Sea Cadets at 6pm on Saturday, June 30.

The Mayor of Rotherham, Coun David Pickering, will attend along with forces personnel and veterans.

All serving and ex-members of the armed forces are invited to a drop-in from noon until 2pm on July 3 at the Unity Centre, St Leonard’s Road to find out about ex-military matters including the Armed Forces Covenant.
