Follow up for residents

RESIDENTS in a South Yorkshire village affected by the summer floods are being invited to a second public meeting next Tuesday.

Officials from Rotherham Council, police and fire and rescue service will attend the meeting in Thorpe Hesley to answer questions about the June floods and emergency response.

Rotherham council leader Coun Roger Stone said: “By holding this second meeting at Thorpe Hesley we are honouring a commitment we gave to return to the communities to let them know what’s been happening and what progress has been made on the questions they posed at the meeting back in July. I would encourage all those who have an interest to come along.”

The meeting, at the Holy Trinity Church, Sough Hall Avenue, takes place between 7pm and 8pm.
