Folk singing against war

Have your say

Legendary Sheffield-based folk singer Roy Bailey will be performing a live benefit concert for the Chesterfield Stop the War Coalition.

The performer, described by former Chesterfield MP Tony Benn as “the greatest living socialist folk singer of a generation” will be on stage at the Winding Wheel venue, on Holywell Street, in the town centre, from 7.30pm on Sunday May 1.

The event aims to raise money for Chesterfield Stop the War’s campaigning work.

Spokesman Chris Parsons said: “Whilst supporting working class soldiers, Chesterfield Stop the War Coalition is totally against our involvement in Afghanistan and now in Libya.”
