Folk give generously at duel charity concert

A charity folk concert was held at Crookes Social Club on Saturday, in aid of Alzheimers & Dementia and Parkinsons UK.

The concert’s line-up included the Sheffield-based Melrose Quartet, English Concertina master Alistair Anderson and Rotherham’s Ray Hearn. Last year a concert by the same organiser Val Civico - whose husband suffers with Dementia and who, herself, suffers with Parkinsons disease, raised over £5000 for the two charities and Val is hopeful this year’s concert beat that total.
