A FOLK singer who was a finalist at the BBC’s Young Folk Awards is coming to Worksop for a live concert next Saturday.

Lucy Ward, aged 21, from Littleover in Derbyshire, is performing at Worksop Library ahead of the release of her debut album, Adelphi Has To Fly, in June.

The singer was a finalist at the awards in 2009, and has supported leading folk musicians including Mercury Music Prize nominee Seth Lakeman, Jim Moray and Nancy Kerr.

Peter Collins, library service manager, said Lucy is a great example of local talent.
