We are getting increasingly worried about Sheffield’s continued transfer to the new street lights, which is apparently at the expense of maintaining the faulty sections of the new lights previously installed.
The narrow beams are often hidden by trees anyway, leaving dangerous black spots, especially on foggy nights.
Two particularly bad areas are on Moss Way, S20, (between Owlthorpe Greenway and Galley Drive, in darkness for at least three weeks now), and Mosborough Parkway, (that awful bend leading to Coisley Hill roundabout).
As usual, scheduled works, (eg Gleadless Valley, S12), have fallen behind, but the residents I have spoken to would prefer that the existing new lights were working before the council spends more on replacing their old, (but working), street lights.
The fog is here, please prioritise the faulty new sections before embarking on other areas. Thanks!
