Flytippers fined thousands for dumping waste

FINES and charges totalling over £7,400 have been dished out following environmental crime prosecutions brought by Doncaster Council.

The cases were heard by Doncaster Magistrates and included one individual being ordered to pay up over £1,300 for illegally transporting and dumping waste.

Paul Stephenson of Coronation Avenue, Misson, admitted failing to exercise a duty of care in respect of waste and being in control of a vehicle used to carry and deposit waste.

He was fined £333 and ordered to pay costs of £1,017.

Convicted of failing to exercise a duty of care in respect of their waste were: Ben Davis of Goodison Walk, Cantley, fined £500, £244.70 costs; Stacey Griffiths of Borrowdale Close, Carcroft, fined £175,£234.35 costs; Nicola Jenkins of Rosslyn Crescent, Bentley, fined £165, costs £200; Kerry Cheadle of Ellison Street, Thorne, fined £408, £256.48 costs; Keith Fox of Campsmount Cottage, Campsall, fined £585, £437 costs; Angela Sanchez of Sheppard Road, Balby, fined £165, costs £264.89, Anne Marie Shipley of Winchester Road, Dunscroft, fined £875, £275.13 costs.

Convicted of leaving litter: Simon Martland of Bosworth Road, Adwick, fined £35, £178.67 costs; Sarah Crookson of Southfield Road, Thorne, fined £75, £163.02 cost; Kylea Brandon of Clarell Gardens, Cantley, fined £260, £163.02, costs; Robert Curry of Palm Avenue, Armthorpe, fined £260, £178.67 costs.
