Wincobank will be blooming this weekend as it holds its first ever flower festival.
St Thomas’ church and Upper Wincobank chapel will be decorated with floral displays created by local community groups, businesses and schools.
Organiser Elizabeth Booth said: “We are absolutely delighted with the response and everyone is looking forward to it.
“The church and chapel will be open from 11am on Saturday and at other times during the week for people to come in and have a look at the lovely flowers.
“On the following Sunday, October 9, we are having a local history day at St Thomas’ church when the old Wincobankers bring their historical and archive material of the village for everyone to have a look at.”
