Flood warden training day

Have your say

Doncaster’s flood wardens have been put through their paces at the Martin Wells Centre in Edlington.

Volunteers from Toll Bar, Bentley Town End and Sprotbrough took part in Exercise Watermark where they were asked to respond to a scenario involving major flooding of their communities.

The aim was to give communities the opportunity to rehearse flood response arrangements and demonstrate the actions and learning points that have been put in place after the floods of 2007.

It was part of the response to the recommendations of the Pitt report into the 2007 floods.
