Flight finally under way after delay

A DELAYED flight from Doncaster which needed police action to calm passengers finally took off more than 12 hours late.

Police were called to Robin Hood Airport as tempers frayed among passengers waiting to take the 8.40pm Onurair flight to Bodrum on Wednesday.

Steve Adamson, product development and communications manager at Robin Hood Airport said the aircraft finally departed yesterday at 9.30am, with 214 passengers on board.

“The unexpected delay was due to a technical problem with the aircraft. The airline worked in close partnership with the airport team throughout the evening, whilst a standby aircraft was flown in from Izmir,” he said.
