Five arrested after police pursuit in South Yorkshire involving helicopter

Five people have been arrested following a chase through South Yorkshire involving a police helicopter.

Suspects were pursued through Askern, in Doncaster, on Friday afternoon, with the National Police Air Service Barton assisting South Yorkshire Police with the hunt.

Police tweeted to say two suspects had been detained after a vehicle was abandoned and three more were arrested following a subsequent search.

SYP tweeted shortly after 6pm to say it had been 'all go', adding '5 arrested and enquiries ongoing'.
