Today, part of the restaurant’s frontage was charred and blackened but it was not immediately clear how much damage had been done inside the premises.

Restaurant bosses said today they were hoping to find out the full impact of the fire once an investigation has been completed.

A spokesperson said the fire was extinguished ‘quickly’, adding what impact the blaze would have on the planned early summer opening of the new restaurant was not yet known.

The restaurant is set to offer dine-in seating for up to 118 guests as well as a drive-thru service.
