Doncaster’s brand new Junior Civic Mayor Cordie Freeman attended her first official engagements yesterday.
She helped Civic Mayor Eva Hughes to welcome new British citizens and their families to Doncaster as part of citizenship ceremonies held at the Mansion House.
Last night they were VIP spectators at a charity football match at the Keepmoat Stadium where Doncaster Council played South Yorkshire Police to raise money for the Civic Charity Fund which supports voluntary youth organisations and the Aurora Centre.
Cordie, aged 10, said: “I’ve been really looking forward to going to my first events as Junior Civic Mayor. I’m really excited to see what is involved in the job of Civic Mayor.”
