A MOBILE cancer information unit which works across Barnsley is celebrating its first birthday.
The Healthwise unit offers residents information and advice about the disease and more than 4,000 people have paid a visit during its trips to supermarkets, town centres and businesses.
The service has also educated children and adults about how to make health lifestyle choices to reduce their risk of developing cancer.
Katie Hopkins, cancer information manager, said: “It’s likely that one in three of us will develop a cancer at some point in our lives.
“Services like this really do change lives.”
