Firm invests after £14m orders win

A South Yorkshire window manufacturer is investing more than half-a-million pounds in machinery to streamline operations and increase capacity to meet orders of £14 million.

Barnsley-based Building Product Solutions has spent £100,000 on a new ‘double stacking quad welder’ that improves flexibility and accuracy on the production line and cuts production times.

It has also spent £150,000 on two Urban corner cleaners and two glass-cutting tables.

A £275,000 Stuga machining centre is arriving soon while a Stuga machining saw is on order.

Building Product Solutions’ managing director Ian Harrison said the tools would help them increase output to meet orders of £14m.

He added: “This investment is the next step of our growth plan. Turnover increased by 60 per cent in the last 12 months and we don’t want to slow down, so we’ve made a real effort to invest in the business.

“We’ve just opened our glass plant, recruited staff and now new machinery will help us fulfil orders and take new ones as construction continues to boom.”
