Firefighters rescue Sheffield woman found asleep in her burning home

A woman was rescued from her smoke-filled home in Sheffield by firefighters who found her asleep in her bed.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was led outside to safety after firefighters arrived at her home in Club Garden Road, Sharrow, at 2.30am.

A pan had been left on the hob in the kitchen.

Four fire engines responded to calls about the blaze.
