The tactic didn't work, and fire crews were called. They freed her shortly after.

Elsewhere, garden fires at Goldthorpe and Kendrick kept other crews busy last night.

Wood pallets were set alight in the garden of an empty house on Neville Road, Kendrick, at 8.30pm.

Cudworth firefighters extinguished the flames in a fire they suspect was deliberately lit.

Rubbish in the yard of a house was alight in Goldthorpe when Dearne crews were called just before 12am.

They were on the scene at Cross Street for about an hour.
