Firefighters were called out to a Sheffield nursing home after a blaze broke out in the kitchen.

Two crews from Central fire station attended the Newfield Nursing Home on Cat Lane, Heeley, at around 9.30pm on Friday night.

A 'small fire' started in the the kitchen area and crews used breathing appliances to tackle the blaze.

Nobody was injured or taken to hospital as a precaution and firefighters left the scene after a short time.

A crew from the same station was also called out to a car fire on Park Hill flats at around 6.30am this morning.

A South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesman said a car was badly burnt out in what's being treated as an arson attack.
