Firefighters called out to Sheffield house blaze

Firefighters were called out this afternoon after a house went up in flames on one of Sheffield’s main roads.

Crews were sent to the blaze on Hollinsend Road, at the Mansfield Road end, near Intake, at just after 2.40pm today.

Three fire engines, from Central, Parkway, and Low Edges fire stations were involved, using breathing apparatus to fight the flames, along with hoses.

No one was injured, and officers said the building was empty.

The number eight bus route was diverted while the crews took action.
