Fire crews rescue trapped reveller stuck behind nightclub at 4.30am

Fire crews were called to a Barnsley nightclub to rescue a woman who had become trapped between a wall and a fence in its outdoor courtyard.

The incident was reported at 4.30am at the back of the Voudou nightclub on Wellington Street.

Crews from Barnsley and Tankersley station spent about 40 minutes cutting a panel in the fence so the 23-year-old woman could be released.

She was taken to Barnsley Hospital.

In Rotherham, crews were called to a fire in woodland off Barber Avenue, Parkgate, at 9pm on Friday.

They used water backpacks to put out the flames.
