FIND out how to discover your family history or search for information about your community at an archives open day.

Rotherham’s Archives and Local Studies Service is holding an archives workshop for beginners on Friday, November 9, between 10am and noon.

Visitors will be able to discover and learn about resources to help trace family histories, including census, electoral registers, school records, parish registers and workhouse records.

The cost for the session is £3 per person and advance Booking is essential.

Coun Amy Rushforth, of Rotherham Council, said: “It’s a great opportunity to help members of the public dig into the past.”
