AN organisation that helps cash-strapped Rotherham residents officially opens its new premises today.

At 2.30pm Rotherham Mayor Coun Shaun Wright will open the new LASER Credit Union offices in the Old Town Hall, Effingham Street, Rotherham.

During the afternoon visitors will be able to hear about the work of the credit union, which moved earlier this year from its previous premises in the Guardian Centre.

LASER was launched eight years ago and has seen a continued increase in the number of people using its services for loans, savings and advice on financial management.

The move to the new premises was supported by £20,000 of funding from Rotherham Borough Council. Call 01709 836500.
