Final recommendations for Sheffield’s electoral arrangements have been published – with changes made to the previous proposals.

After a 12-week consultation, the Boundary Commission is now suggesting the area of Highfield be included in the City ward rather than Park and Arbourthorne.

Part of Netherthorpe will be included in the Walkley ward and Broomhall will be incorporated into the new Broomhill and Sharrow Vale ward.

Lower Bradway and Ringinglow will be part of Dore and Totley, Foxhill and Chaucer will come under Southey and the Crookes ward will be renamed Crookes and Crosspool.

The commission’s review recommends that Sheffield retains its current level of councillors, which is 84.

The proposed new arrangements must now be implemented by Parliament so they can come into force before elections for every seat in the city are held in 2016.
