ORGANISERS of one of Sheffield’s biggest annual community events say 2012 was its most successful year ever.

Stephen Rich, secretary of Greenhill Tenants and Residents’ Association, said the Lowedges Festival had crowds of 15,000 – up from 10,000 in 2011.

He said: “The festival was a complete success and we would like to thank The Star, Stagecoach, Sheaf Motors and most of all the public for their fantastic support.

“Work has already started for 2013.”
