THERE WILL be plenty to keep the kids busy at this year’s Lowedges Festival, which takes place on Sunday.
Attractions at the free event at Greenhill Park, Gresldey Road, will include a classic car show, Sheffield Speedway, Sheffield Wednesday FC’s inflatable football pitch, a climbing wall, cycle training area and dog show.
Entertainment will be provided by skiffle group The Yorkshire Teabags and the BeVox Choir.
The fun starts at noon and finishes at 5pm.
There will also be a car boot sale, miniature steam train, go kart track bouncy castle, farm animals, a mini funfair and ferret and falconry displays.
The event is organised by the Friends of Greenhill Park, Lowedges Community and Safety Forum and Greenhill and Bradway Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (TARA).
Steven Rich, from Greenhill TARA, said: “It’s a huge event. In the first year we had 7,000 visitors. We had 9,000 visitors in the second year. This year, the third year it’s been running, we are expecting between 10,000 and 11,000.”
