A HOUSE in a village conservation area could overshadow surrounding properties if it is doubled in size, a parish council planning committee has been told.
A meeting of Ecclesfield Parish Council Environmental Planning Committee was discussing proposals for a two-storey and single-storey extension including a porch to the house in Main Street, Grenoside.
Committee member Coun Alan Hooper said: “This will double the size of this house which is surrounded by other houses, and part will be two storey. It could be overdevelopment because of the sheer size of this house in the Grenoside Conservation Area.”
The planning committee will forward its views to Sheffield Council, which will decide if the scheme can proceed.
