Fast food staff’s charity workout

Have your say

Staff from McDonald’s branches have cycled 15,827 miles on exercise bikes for the restaurant’s nominated charity.

Workers from the fast food chain’s Sheffield outlets joined colleagues from across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Money raised will go to Ronald McDonald House Manchester, which provides 60 en-suite rooms for the families of children being treated at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Emma Kemp, operations consultant for McDonald’s, coordinated the bikeathon, and said it was great fun.

She said: “When we do fundraising it is all about getting everyone involved so we did something to challenge staff while helping a very worthwhile cause.”
