Fancie to support Children’s Air Ambulance

CAKE makers Fancie will be hosting a Christmas-themed event on Thursday at their Sharrowvale Road shop in aid of new charity The Children’s Air Ambulance.

Fancie, which recently won accolades from both The Observer Food Monthly and Meadowhall Shopping Centre, has been supporting The Children’s Air Ambulance since September through the sale of Sticky Toffee Pudding cupcakes.

The Children’s Air Ambulance is a new national charity, working to provide children and babies with access to an air transfer service that will vastly reduce the time it takes to them to specialist paediatric centres.

The ambulance also allows NHS care teams to travel with the child so treatment can be given during the journey.

The event takes place from 6.30pm.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of fizz, as well as a Fancie cupcake before having the chance to start their Christmas shopping.

Local retailers will be on hand to take orders and show off their produce.

Children’s Air Ambulance fundraiser Faye Wilson said: “The Children’s Air Ambulance launches in November, so not only is this event a great way to support us, but with Fancie’s delicious cupcakes and the chance to tick off some of your Christmas shopping list in one evening on offer, we hope this will be an event that is too good to miss.”

Kate Green, events manager at Fancie said “We’ve already been able to raise almost £500 through the sale of our charity cupcakes and hope this event will carry on our fundraising efforts.”

Tickets are priced £5 and are available from all Fancie shops.
