The campaign is being headed by Suzanne Maguire, who was diagnosed with MND in 2002, and given just 2-5 years to live.

16 years on from this devastating diagnosis, Suzanne has since written a book, in an effort to raise as much money as possible to fund MND research. The book, entitled Spellbound Chronicles: Bloodline, is on sale in Waterstones, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, with 15 per cent from the sale of every book going directly to MND charities.

And now, the 52-year-old has managed to gather a whole host of famous faces - including Loose Women and soap star Sally Lindsay, Emmerdale’s Samantha Giles, Red Dwarf’s Danny John-Jules, and Coronation Street’s Julie Hesmondhalgh - to read extracts of the book aloud for a new YouTube video, designed to promote the cause.

“When I was diagnosed with MND, my boys were just seven and nine, and I desperately wished to leave them some sort of legacy,” said Suzanne, who now lives in Doncaster.

“That’s where the book came in, which I wrote with my mum, Eve. The book was released in 2014, but more recently, I came up with the idea to approach friends and actors to record themselves reading extracts of the book, and have been left truly overwhelmed by how many people agreed. I’d love as many people as possible to watch the video, and help us to ensure that MND well and truly on its way to getting its backside kicked.”
