Family to say goodbyes to tragic OAP

FRIENDS and relatives of a Sheffield woman who died after falling into a reservoir will say their final goodbyes at her funeral next week.

Betty Ailsa Moore, aged 88, of Oak Apple Walk, Stannington, was walking with a friend when she fell into Agden Reservoir, close to the village of Bradfield, on Tuesday May 3.

Mrs Moore’s friend – a woman in her 60s – tried to pull the pensioner out of the water and managed to drag her to the bank at the dam end of the reservoir.

Paramedics arrived but declared Mrs Moore dead at the scene.

The second woman was still in the water when paramedics arrived and was taken to the Northern General Hospital for treatment for hypothermia and later released.

Mrs Moore’s funeral is to be held at Grenoside Crematorium on Tuesday at 1pm.

She is survived by her son Michael and daughter Maureen.
