Family time in woodland

Have your say

A FAMILY ‘muck in’ day is to be held for green-fingered volunteers to help tidy up the Millennium Oak Plantation, near Curbar.

The Eastern Moors Partnership, a joint partnership between the National Trust and RSPB, is to host the event on Sunday.

Families are being asked to help clear scrubland and fell small trees.

The Millennium Oak Plantation was planted by pupils of Curbar Primary School 12 years ago and some of the self-seeded birch trees need to be felled to give the oak trees some breathing space.

To take part meet at the Curbar Gap car park on Clod Hall Lane at 10.30am.
