Family thanks Doncaster community for searching for elderly relative

The family of an elderly missing man has thanked the local community for searching for the OAP.

Geoffrey Trout, aged 89, was reported missing from his home in Conisbrough at around noon yesterday and South Yorkshire Police circulated his photograph as officers scoured the area for him.

They were joined by members of the public who also searched the Conisbrough area in a bid to try to find the missing man.

Last night, Mr Trout’s grandson, Dave Keith, posted on Facebook that he had been found and thanked local residents for their efforts with the search.

He said: “I’m Geoff’s grandson and everywhere I went searching this evening, I kept bumping into people looking out for him.

“Down country lanes, in pitch black fields and in the cold weather.

“Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone.

“He has now been found and is with the paramedics. Without everyone’s help I don’t think he would have made it through the night. Can’t thank you all enough.”
