The family of a former Britain’s Got Talent star from South Yorkshire – left fighting for his life after a horror crash – have praised the medics who saved him.

Danny Ball, one half of martial arts duo Strike, was hurt in a head-on crash with a lorry a week ago.

His brother Jamie Faulding, aged 22, who sustained minor injuries in the smash, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the paramedics at the scene, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service and Leeds General Infirmary who have all been amazing and saved Danny’s life.

“As a family we are overwhelmed by the messages we have received and would like to thank everyone for their support at this difficult time.

Danny, 28, from Armthorpe, Doncaster, found fame as part of Strike with Sheffield man Liam Richards, reaching the final of the ITV talent show in 2008.

More than 15 million people watched the live final.
