Fairness and compassion?
I see from The Star (November 16, 2016, p3) that Chris Grayling has promised that any homeowner losing out through the implementation of HS2 will be treated with 'fairness, compassion and respect'.
However, it remains to be seen what these words work out to mean in practice.
This is a guy who helped to perpetrate then continues to support the ignominious perpetuation of such as the Bedroom Tax, and had no qualms about subjecting victims to ATOS-type medicals and the resultant consequences.
Wouldn’t it be great if politicians of all parties directed their energies towards showing “fairness, compassion and respect” to their victims who face losing their homes of long standing, by abolishing such penal practices of the weak and vulnerable?
After all, what can really be gained from their continuation?
