Fair weather hope at show

Have your say

OrganiserS of tomorrow’s annual Sykehouse Show are hoping the forecast rain will hold off.

The traditional village agricultural show is being held for the 126th time and Poplars Farm in Broad Lane has agreed to host it.

The show will feature dairy and beef cattle, commercial and Jacob sheep, show jumping, a gymkhana, arts and crafts tent and a horticultural marquee.

Organisers are expecting around 50 trade stands and up to 20 craft stalls.

There will be rides for children and the highlight of the day is expected to be a sheaf of corn tossing competition, with a prize of £100 on offer for the person who can throw the furthest.

Admission for adults is £5 and £3 for children, with a car parking charge of £5.
