This is the face of a man police believe could be behind a string of sex assaults at a Doncaster beauty spot.
Police have released an e-fit of a man fitting the description of a suspect in the reported attack, which they believe may be related to a series of similar incidents at Denaby Crags.
Police say there have been seven cases there this year since February.
The release of the image comes as concerned officers confirmed they are stepping up patrols in the area because of their fears for the safety of women there.
The reported sexual assault of a 25-year-old woman is the latest in a string of ‘similar’ attacks.
Officers say the woman was walking in the direction of Denaby Cemetery at the rear of Tickhill Square when, as she approached the Denaby Crags area, a man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her.
The incident occurred at 2.20pm on Saturday, September 27.
The man was white, aged around 35, over 6ft tall and thin. He had a short scruffy beard and a local accent. He was wearing a dark blue or black hoody and scruffy black trainers.
Police are discouraging people from walking alone in the area. And high visibility patrols are being carried out on a daily basis. Earlier this week, officers revealed they were looking for a man who indecently revealed himself to a woman on a disability scooter.
The 56-year-old victim was travelling from Church Street to Wellgate, in Conisbrough. Temporary Det Insp Jade Brice said they were looking to find out if that incident was connected to the assaults at Denaby Crags. He said: “The other offences have been around Denaby Crags rather than Conisbrough.
“We’ve been flooding the area with officers from various departments, the mounted section, police dogs, and some of the community support officers have been there as their default position.
“Our presence has been very positive and we’ve had a positive response from it.
“We are concerned, and that is why we have invested so many resources in the matter.”
The latest reports come after a man was jailed for an attack on a jogger at nearby Denaby Ings.
Aaron McGarrigle, aged 22, was jailed for three-and-a-half years after attacking a woman running to Pastures Lodge near Mexborough via the canal towpath.
He stopped her at the Denaby Ings car park before trying to push her into nearby bushes, saying: “Come and follow me in here.”
Anyone who may recognises the man in the efit is urged to come forward. Call 101 quoting incident number 661 of September 27, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
