The Millers twice came from behind at rain-drenched Griffin Park and were only minutes away from earning a share of the spoils.

But two goals in time added sealed the fate of the division's bottom club.

They were 1-0 behind at the break but drew level through Aimen Belaid. Then, after the home side had retaken the lead, substitute Anthony Forde produced a long-range screamer with just three minute to go.

However, their hopes of only a second point on their travels this campaign were dashed when Jota, the scorer of the opening goal back in the 13th minute, converted a penalty in time added on and then completed his hat-trick at the end of a Bees breakaway with virtually the last kick of the game.

Rotherham fell behind to the first real chance of the encounter when Florian Jozefzoon skipped past Stephen Kelly and laid the ball back to Jota who screwed his low shot across goal into the left corner of Lewis Price's net.

Price had been summoned into the starting 11 minutes before kick-off when Richard O'Donnell was injured during the warm-up.

The visitors were level in the 68th minute when Belaid rose to send a looping header beyond Bentley after substitute Anthony Forde's inviting cross.

Jon Taylor simply had to score at the back post on 75 minutes but, as Bentley slipped over to leave the goal gaping, the Millers winger headed down and over from Will Vaulks' cross.

Rotherham paid the price for that miss in the 78th minute when Nico Yennaris stole in to convert Ryan Woods' supply from the right flank to put Brentford in front again.

Forde's moment of magic looked to have given Paul Warne's men some reward for their efforts before Jota's late, late double intervention.
