YOUR reader, Mrs Moody, is concerned about the state of the old Heeley National School on Gleadless Road, with a date stone of 1801. It is proposed to demolish it and erect six supported living units for adults with learning disabilities. At the time Heeley church was being built in 1846, Henry Denson Jones, the vicar, conducted his Sunday services at the school. The left hand side elevation is an eyesore and has been for the last 20 years.
