Eyesore at city’s gateway

ECCLESFIELD Council is concerned that visitors to Sheffield may be put off by what they describe as “an eyesore” at a gateway to the city.

Parish councillors are calling on Sheffield Council to improve the appearance of junction 35 of the M1.

They are requesting Sheffield Council’s Northern Community Assembly provides a hard surface for a grassed area on the approach to Chapeltown and Ecclesfield from the M1 junction, which is used as an unofficial car park. Coun Graham Oxley, a member of both the parish and city councils, said: “This large grassed area is used by many drivers”
