Sheffield City Council looks set to spend a further £250,000 to complete a cycle route following delays.

The Blackburn Valley Route was due to be completed in April but has stalled due to land right issues, a report to the council’s cabinet states.

The route “forms part of the strategic network from residential areas to employment, education, leisure and other locations in and around junction 35A”.

The report states: “£250k Local Transport Plan funding is to be added to complete an 800m section of the route between Butterthwaite Lane and Loicher Lane which will be progressed through a legal order.”

The scheme will be discussed at a meeting of Sheffield City Council’s cabinet on Wednesday, July 18.
