CHILDREN’S charity Barnardo’s is setting up toy exchanges at its shops and Argos branches around South Yorkshire.
The organisation is encouraging parents and children to donate old toys to raise money for some of the region’s most disadvantaged children and young people.
Members of the public can donate unwanted toys in exchange for a £5 voucher towards the cost of new toys to be redeemed at Argos by Monday, December 24.
The voucher is valid against purchases of £35 or more.
Barnardo’s and Argos say research shows that the average UK family has 80 toys, but children do not regularly play with two thirds of them – resulting in millions of unused toys.
Toys donated through the exchange scheme will be sold in Barnardo’s shops.
