Ex-servicemen and women offered help in Rotherham to find work

A free course is to be held in Rotherham to help ex-servicemen and women find new jobs.

The five day course, to be held in Rotherham Town Hall from March 7-11, is being run by Royal British Legion Industries and is open to any armed forces veterans.

It forms part of the British Legion’s work helping ex-service personnel deal with the transition from military to civilian life.

Veterans will receive guidance on building a civilian CV, preparing for an interview and learning how and where to look for work.

Coun Taiba Yasseen, Rotherham Council’s Advisory Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Working and Cultural Services, said: “This support is a great opportunity for anyone who has worked in the armed forces to receive valuable support to get the job they are aiming for.

“The team at the course will work closely with the Rotherham veterans to hone in on their skills and abilities to work towards their next career step. Whether they are looking for training opportunities, returning to work or further education it will help them gain confidence and skills to reach their goal.”
