Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND) will hold a 'Love a Muslim Day' workshop on Thursday celebrate the diversity of Muslims.

A national police probe was launched in March after sick letters encouraging people to take part in a 'punish a Muslim' points-scoring game were sent to families and businesses.

At least one of the threatening letters is believed to have been posted in Sheffield.

Leaflets were also posted through doors across Britain calling for Muslims to be 'butchered' as part of the day of hate.

However, MEND will be holding their 'Love a Muslim Day' event at Sheffield Town Hall to signify there is 'no place for such hatred in society'.

The leaflet read: "Let's come together to spread a positive message!

"Let's show everyone that #WeStandTogether and show solidarity with all our communities and to celebrate humanity!

"We have speakers across our faith groups, political parties and communities.

"We recognise that there is no place for such hatred in society, and celebrate the response which counteracts extremist narrative in a positive way, bringing people together and celebrating unity and diversity by #Standingtogether."

Organisers said the event aims to bring people together in a positive manner and celebrate the diversity of Muslims.

It will also 'reassure individuals who have concerns about these letters' and 'highlight ways we can become more proactive to tackle hate crime'.

The event will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, April 3.
