YOUNGSTERS were joined by their local MP when they were invited to a Tesco store to collect new equipment donated through the supermarket giant’s voucher scheme.
Pupils from Wath Central, Wath Victoria, Our Lady and St Joseph’s and West Melton primary schools attended the presentation at Tesco’s Wath-upon-Dearne store, with Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey.
The schools have received IT, sport and outdoor equipment thanks to local shoppers who collected and donated their school vouchers.
Wath store manager Gary Simpson said: “ Thousands of customers have collected vouchers so schools and clubs can get new equipment.
“This just shows what can happen when a whole community gets involved.”
