Money raised will help support services in the local area. The Scunthorpe and Goole Macmillan Cancer Support group has raised over £1million since it started. Not only does this help to fund Macmillan nurses, but also to provide grants for local patients in need of financial assistance with anything from which they will benefit, such as transport costs, shower installations, etc.
Their latest venture has been the new Macmillan information centres at Scunthorpe, Goole and Grimsby hospitals, all manned by local volunteers.
