The envy of the UK?

So John Mothersole thinks that Sheffield will be the envy of the UK? Who is he kidding? The way things are going Sheffield won't even be the envy of South Yorkshire.

I am in my 70s and have lived and worked in Sheffield all my working life and can honestly say that I have never seen the city without something being demolished or something being built or roads closed or bollards here, there and everywhere.

Mr Mothersole talks about the area around the railway station. All right it looks smart if you’ve just come off a train, but I took my daughter and grandson to the station this morning and the area where I had to drop them off was disgusting.

I then drove back along London Road and the area from the bottom of London Road towards Highfields is an absolute disgrace. The only decent respectable buildings are the ones built for students, the rest are an eyesore. And does the city centre need more bars as Mr Mothersole envisages? Surely there are enough bars not far away on West Street.

How about something in the city for nature lovers on the lines of a building containing an aviary, butterfly house, aquarium etc. where parents and grandparents could take the children, maybe have some refreshments and watch the wildlife.
